A chapter of Ordinary Life
Chromatic Code is where the everyday is taken as far as it will go. A bowl on a table becomes a disc of colour on a ground of another colour; sea, sky and the line between them become fields of cobalt, carmine, powder pink. All of it remains, on inspection, a photograph of a real thing at a real hour. The chapter asks how little of an object has to survive for it to still be the memory of one.
